Overview

MORES is a team-based crisis intervention for children and adolescents ages 3 to 21 years experiencing escalating emotional and/or behavioral needs. MORES provides up to four weeks of follow-up services for individuals who have experienced a behavioral health crisis. The goal of the MORES program is to stabilize the present concern, empower & educate families to monitor, manage & cope with similar situations in the future, establish & build resiliency skills and strengthen the natural support systems of families. 

Responsibilities

Mobile Crisis Management

MORES Team Lead – Qualified Professional

Reports to: Chief Operations Officer or Designee

Purpose: Assure maintenance of all minimum standards of Mobile Outreach, Response, Engagement and Stabilization (MORES) Team

Education/Experience/Other Requirements:

Verification of the following competencies:

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a human service field and with two years of full-time, post-bachelor’s degree accumulated MH/DD/SA experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional who has two years of full time, post-bachelor’s degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling; or
  • A graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a field other than human services and has four years of full-time, post-bachelor’s degree accumulated MH/DD/SA experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional who has four years of full-time post-bachelor’s degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling.

    • Proven experience in crisis intervention and stabilization.
    • 3 or more years working with child/adolescent individuals and families across various disciplines (Mental Health, Substance Use, Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities)
    • Must complete the MORES training curriculum.
  • Must have 8 full years of driving experience and a valid driver's license. The following must be true in regards to DMV record:
    • No one with a past DWI on their record will ever be able to drive a company vehicle or transport a resident in a personal vehicle
    • No one under the age of 25 can drive a company vehicle
    • To transport residents in a personal vehicle you must have had a valid driver’s license for three years and a clean driving record. If you get your first license at the age of 16 you must be 20 and have nothing on your driving record. If you are 17 when you get your license then you must be 21 and have a clean driving record.
  • QP status and prior supervisory experience in the mental health field
  • No substantiated findings on the NC Personnel Registry/Health Care Program and must not be listed on the HHS/OIG List of Excluded Individual/Entities.
  • SBI and DMV records must meet the requirements of area mental health contracts.
  • Responsibilities Regarding Consumer Rights:

  • To practice and promote the policies and procedures of Therapeutic Alternatives, Inc., thereby ensuring basic rights to all people receiving our services.
  • To attend meetings and in-services as directed by my supervisor for the purpose of continuing education regarding consumer rights, choices, and outcomes.
  • To respect and maintain the confidentiality of all consumer information to which I am privileged during the carrying out of my general responsibilities.
  • To be polite and courteous to all consumers, guests, and staff of this corporation.
  • To learn/understand my role in the process and meaning of accreditation.
  • General Responsibilities of MORES Team Lead Qualified Professional:

  • Provide crisis response and/or follow up for recipient. Must be flexible and willing to work various hours including nights and weekends. Services provided must adhere to the MORES Scope of Work.
  • Supervise and evaluate the team’s performance in all aspects of their position as required by the MORES Scope of Work.
  • Provide training of theory and application of MORES services.
  • Maintain up-to-date inventory of available resources and services.
  • Complete documentation of a daily full service note for each day/event service is provided. All documentation must be completed on the day the service is provided and completed electronically or in BLACK INK only. Use of “white-out” is not acceptable.
  • Provide coordination of movement across levels of care, directly to the person and the family and coordinate discharge planning and community re-entry following hospitalization, residential services and other levels.
  • Provide linkage to appropriate services to include transportation if needed.
  • In a timely manner and as required, forward documentation to designated staff.
  • Help maintain the self-respect, personal dignity and physical safety of each recipient.
  • Work cooperatively with all other staff and relate favorably to recipients and families.
  • Attend all mandatory staff meetings and consumer conferences or give advance notice to the COO or Designee as to reasons for inability to attend.
  • Receive supervision by the COO or Designee.
  • Report any changes in consumer’s condition, family situation, or needs to the appropriate personnel.
  • Report any accident or incident to the COO or Designee.
  • Report to COO or Designee any suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation of recipients.
  • Be familiar with TA, Inc. policies and procedures including the securing of emergency services and the regulations concerning medication administration.
  • Be familiar with HIPAA regulations and abide by them.
  • Assure consumer’s rights are met and maintain consumer confidentiality at all times.
  • Operate office equipment as necessary, i.e. calculator, copier, computer, fax, etc.
  • Obtain and keep current all training required by the agency. Understand that failure to renew classes by their due date will result in being removed from the schedule.
  • Perform other duties as required by circumstances.
  • Qualifications

    • Must have a minimum of one (1) year’s experience in providing crisis management services in the following settings: assertive outreach, assertive community treatment, emergency department or other service providing 24/7 response in emergent or urgent situations. We will need to be able to confirm through references.
    • Must have a valid NC Driver's License.
    • Must have had at least 8 years of driving experience, as this is a requirement of company's liability insurance carrier.
    • Must be able to Lift, Push, Carry or Pull minimum of 50 pounds.
    • 3 or more years working with child/adolescent individuals and families across various disciplines (Mental Health, Substance Use, Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities)

    QP -

    Holds license, certificate, registration or permit issued by a governing board regulating a human service profession (except nursing, which requires 4 years licensed experience).

    A Master’s prepared individual with a degree in a human service area with one year of experience

    working with individuals within disciplines after the degree.

    A Bachelor’s prepared individual with degree in a human service area with two years of experience working with

    individuals with persons within disciplines after degree.

    A Bachelor’s prepared individual with a degree in an area other than a human service field who has 4 years of

    experience in working with individuals within disciplines after degree.
