TheraCare Home Health - Lewisville is Hiring a Physical Therapy Assistant - Full Time - DFW Near Addison, TX

Two Regions Available:

  • Carrollton, Lewisville, Coppell, The Colony area
  • South Dallas, Desoto, Duncanville, Waxahachie area.

Job Summary:

A Physical Therapy Assistant is someone who provides coordinated physical therapy to patients of all age groups under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. This position will promote patients' potential during their home health episode and collaborates with physician, clinical team and patient in preparation for discharge.

Qualifications:

  • Physical Therapy Assistant licensed per the state requirements
  • Good communication skills to be able to relate professionally and positively to patients, caregivers, colleagues and physicians and strong clinical documentation skills
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language


Essential functions:

  • Treats patients as directed by the Physical Therapist.
  • Records treatments administered in medical record.
  • Records clinical documentation according to accepted regulatory, corporate and professional guidelines.
  • Participates in weekly case conferences.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary communication to ensure that patients needs and expectation for services provided are understood and to ensure optimization of service delivery and patient progress.
  • Provides verbal or written patient status updates to supervising PT prior to reassessment and discharge visits, and as indicated by patient response to treatment.
  • Participates in in-service training programs.
  • Responsible for assuring patient safety.
  • Complies with state regulations and national standards as they apply to the practice of physical therapy.
  • All documentation will be completed and synched by 9:00AM the following day, 7 days per week.
