The Young Men's Christian Association of Boise... is Hiring a Customer Service Specialist - Downtown Boise YMCA Near Boise, ID

The Downtown Family YMCA opened its doors in 1964 and has since been a landmark in the Downtown Boise area. The facility has a full court basketball gym, a large cardio fitness center, multiple strength training systems and rooms, racquetball courts, a climbing wall, five fitness studios, three swimming pools, and multiple youth programming areas.

In collaboration with membership & health & well-being, the Customer Service Specialist is responsible for creating a positive customer service experience by connecting our members to YMCA programs and services, supporting members in achieving their wellness goals, building relationships with and between members, engaging with all members and ensuring the safety of our members and guests.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and ensure safety of participants on the wellness floor, responding to emergencies and safety related issues. Ensure members and guests are following all recommended safety guidelines/policies through relationship building and voice attributes.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with members to create a sense of belonging and connection to others.
  • Conduct Get Started sessions using Listen First skills resulting in belonging, connection and achievement.
  • Actively identify and offer additional support to members who may require help, such as health seekers, new members, and members with diverse abilities.
  • Promote YMCA programming (Personal Training, challenges, classes, and workshops) by maintaining awareness, and effectively articulating the benefits of programs to members helping them achieve the two Cause Measurement goals.
  • Engage with members to deepen their relationship to the Y cause.
  • Introduce members to the health and wellness floor and group exercise communities.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in related field.
  • Must be able to engage others in conversation and make all people feel welcome.
  • Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations.
  • Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with others.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

Schedule:

This is a part-time position averaging 15-20 hours weekly. Schedule requirements are Monday-Thursday 9:00am-12 noon and Saturdays 9:00am-1:00pm.
