Position Location and Terms: Position is based in Washington, DC (Local Hire) with opportunity for Hybrid work. The position is offered as a Short-Term Consultant or Temporary (STC or STT) for a maximum of 150 days per year or Part Time.

The Interactive Media Business and Client Engagement Consultant is part of the World Bank Group’s Global Corporate Solutions Department, Interactive Media Services (GCSIM) and reports to the Sr. Program Manager. This unit is responsible for services in the areas of Video Production, Photography, Cartography and Immersive Media (Virtual and Augmented Reality AR/AR) for internal and external audiences.

General Description:

The consultant works in a team with other staff to perform a range of duties involved in client engagement, business tracking and supporting the production of high-quality multimedia projects across the organization. The role works closely with the Program Manager, Video Producers and Photographers, to ensure smooth execution of multimedia projects within timelines, budgets, and established media management protocols. To excel in this position, the consultant must possess a strong knowledge of multimedia (photography and video production) workflows and industry best practices in addition to proven exposure to business practices and cost tracking.

Scope of Work/ Tasks and Responsibilities

Client Development

  • Represent the Interactive Media team by engaging with internal clients on a frequent basis. Regularly promote new services, partnership opportunities and ways the team can be of use as the main provider of media services for the World Bank.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders to form strategic partnerships and collaborations.

Project development and Estimate Management

  • Participate in internal client intake meetings to build media projects scope. Introduce colleagues to media concepts and help them find the right solution for their projects.
  • Prepare business proposals of media projects by estimating time and costs for completion. Monitors projects for accurate cost tracking and process them for internal invoicing and payment. Strong proficiency of Excel and Microsoft Office platforms a must.
  • Support high level production projects by coordinating logistics efforts related to country on-site requirements, monitoring and estimating travel expenses, liaising with local country office for permits and any local requirements for production.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as liaison between client and production staff throughout project development process. Monitor that work is completed on schedule and meets client expectations.
  • Assist in project and estimate development and moving projects forward for all departments under the GCSIM unit [VR, Video, Photo, Cartography]

Business Development

  • Supports business development efforts with a creative marketing focus in order to showcase potential of interactive media for WBG projects and by creating strategic partnerships within the organization.
  • Role is expected to support in-person events, client outreach, research, marketing pieces, monthly newsletters and similar initiatives.

Essential Specialized Skills/Knowledge/Competencies Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, video production, media, photography, or other related fields.
  • Experience with video or media production work environments and familiarity with related workflows and concepts.
  • Effective problem-solving skills to identify and resolve production and processing challenges.
  • Good organizational skills, and ability to work capably in a fast‐paced, deadline-oriented environment, managing multiple tasks within tight deadlines.
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills and ability to have effective client meetings as needed.
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency, able to work with data in order to output required analysis. Proficiency in Adobe CS Photoshop and Premier a plus.
  • Self-starter with ability to learn new skills and follow industry technology changes.
  • Familiarity with video production, photography and virtual reality industry concepts, a plus.
  • Ability to deal sensitively in a multi‐cultural environment and build effective working relations with clients and colleagues in a team-based environment.

Terms of contract and time allocationThe position is offered as a World Bank Short-Term Consultant or Temporary (STC or STT) for a maximum of 150 days, within a one-year period as needed with optional yearly renewals. Relocation benefits are not offered for this position. Specific schedule allocation can be determined as needed.

Pay: $27.00 - $40.00 per hour
