About Us: The Woodlands Animal Cancer and Referral Center is located in Spring, TX and is a privately owned specialty hospital! Uniquely, it is the second location, the premier being Pearland Animal Cancer and Referral Center which was the first and only privately owned specialty referral hospital in the Houston area dedicated to patients and clients with cancer! We opened our doors May 22nd of 2023 and are seeking a motivated, talented, experienced individual who is excited about the opportunity to continue to grow the practice and also grow their own skills and knowledge base.

Job Description: The Veterinary Specialty Oncology Technician will
play a key role in our oncology team, providing high-quality care to our
patients. The ideal candidate will have strong skills and experience in
chemotherapy administration, monitoring, and patient care. Experience in a
specialty setting is preferred, but training is available for candidates with a
strong background in anesthesia, venipuncture, and a detail-oriented approach.

Qualifications:

  • Prefer LVT or experienced technician
  • Experience in oncology or a specialty setting preferred
  • Strong skills in anesthesia, venipuncture, and drug calculations
  • Detail-oriented and able to work independently or as part of a team

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administer chemotherapy and other medications under the direction of veterinarians
  • Monitor patients undergoing chemotherapy for adverse reactions
  • Provide compassionate care to patients and support to their owners
  • Perform venipuncture and collect blood samples for laboratory analysis
  • Assist with diagnostic procedures and imaging studies
  • Maintain accurate medical records

Job Type: Full-time

Experience: Veterinary technician: 3 years (Preferred), Oncology experience: 1 year (Preferred)

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Schedule: Min. 10-hour shift, 4 days, overtime

Education: High school or equivalent (Required)
