The Goldman lab utilizes state-of-the-art mass spectrometry and biochemical approaches to study mechanisms underlying disease progression and therapy resistance from a systems biology perspective, uncover novel therapeutic targets, and identify biomarkers for cancer, ectopic pregnancy, and other diseases. Another main initiative in the lab is to develop new and improved methods for utilizing mass spectrometry to analyze polar metabolites, lipids, and proteins to further research in the lab and support collaborative projects. The successful candidate will assist with and perform biochemical experiments, method development, and data analysis under the supervision of a senior lab member.A bachelor's degree in a science related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience) is required. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, be able to work productively on multiple projects, and work well in a collaborative scientific environment. Preference will be given to candidates who have prior lab experience in biochemistry or a related field and demonstrate an eagerness to learn new techniques. Familiarity with mass spectrometry and strong computational skills are desired but not required.
