POSITION SUMMARY:
As a key senior leader in the Revenue Cycle, this position contributes the financial strength, compliance and overall performance by serving as the Revenue Cycle leader for all System Central Business Office functions. As such, this position is responsible for integrating, monitoring and facilitating improvement in the overall quality, timeliness, completeness and accuracy of CBO processes (such as billing, cash posting, customer service, follow-up, collections and vendor management) for all hospitals and physician practices managed by the organization. This individual is responsible for ensuring adherence to applicable governmental and payer regulations and maintaining a CBO compliance plan. The incumbent assumes responsibility for operational management and administrative and fiscal matters pertaining to the CBO. This position is expected to meet or exceed goals and metrics and transform CBO operations into a “best in class” division.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Education:
  • Minimum Required: Bachelor’s degree in business administration and/or accounting, or other related field required.
  • Preferred: Master Degree.
Experience:
  • Minimum Required: Ten (10) years of Patient Financial Services experience required. At least five (5) of related healthcare revenue cycle management experience, preferably within a multi-facility hospital system with affiliated physician practices.
  • Preferred: At least one (1) year of Epic experience required.
License/Certification:
  • Minimum Required:
  • Preferred: HFMA desirable.
Special Skills/Training:
Minimum Required:
  • Extensive knowledge of hospital and professional billing including provider based billing.
  • Demonstrated skill in critical thinking, diplomacy, and relationship building.
  • Strong knowledge in the areas of patient registration, billing, accounts receivable management, cash management, managed care contractual terms and requirements, health insurance practices, wage and hour regulations, basic accounting including AR reserve analysis, and industry standards for healthcare revenue resolution.
  • Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Exceptional leader with ability to foster staff motivation and a productive working environment.
  • Proven abilities related to project planning, management, and prioritization.
  • Ability to adapt to change and handle challenges proactively and with pose.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with physicians and managerial staff at all levels.
