The Will-Burt Company is Hiring a Press Brake Operator Near Orrville, OH

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Brake Press Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in operating and maintaining brake press machinery. The Brake Press Operator will play a crucial role in our manufacturing process, ensuring precision and quality in every product produced. Sets up and operates power brake to bend, notch, punch, form rolls, arc, or straighten metal plates or sheet metal and structural shapes to blueprint or sketch specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate brake press machinery to bend, shape, and form metal parts according to specified requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine appropriate setup and tooling requirements.
  • Inspect finished products for accuracy, ensuring they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on brake press machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor machine operation and make necessary adjustments to achieve desired results.
  • Turns setscrews or bolts to fasten clamp bar that holds dies in position.
  • Turns adjustment screws to set specified pressure of ram and clearance between dies to thickness of metal, as indicated by calibrated scale or feelers.
  • Lays out or details layout on work stock from blueprints or templates. Set up CNC back gauge.
  • Starts machine to lower ram or depresses pedal to activate ram that bends metal.
  • Sets stops on machine bed and repositions stock to run successive pieces, or to perform multiple operations.
  • Verifies dimensions of work piece, first piece and random inspection of production.
  • Devises and builds temporary dies.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and production schedules are met.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Brake Press Operator.
  • Proficient in setting up and operating brake press machinery.
  • Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills.
  • Knowledge of various metals and their characteristics.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot minor issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision in work.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
