SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY :

The primary purpose of the Mental Health Liaison is to bridge the gap between mental health and housing services. Provides families and their children a seamless model of care, utilizing our internal providers and resources. Provides immediate high quality mental health services such as crisis intervention, de- escalation, mediation, and problem solving utilizing individual care plan.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Provide short term, Mental Health Services to unhoused families.
  • Interview and assess individuals and/or their family’s needs.
  • Utilize internal resources to provide a seamless connection between Mental Health Services and Family Housing
  • Develop a plan to address their physical needs for a safe place to live and for their emotional needs as they recover from the impact of homelessness.
  • Provide individual and family support sessions.
  • Attend case conferencing with Housing support staff.
  • Work closely with our Family Housing Services intake and case management staff.
  • Incorporate nationally recognized guiding principles of trauma-informed care such as safety, empowerment and peer support, and involve parents to help their children recover and resume healthy development
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in social work or related field from an accredited school of social work or psychology program including supervised fieldwork in child adolescent or mental health
  • Current valid registration with the California BBS (Board of Behavioral Sciences)
  • Minimum of 1 year of work experience related to providing Housing services in a congregate interim housing setting.
  • Valid California driver's license and valid auto insurance.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
  • Desired qualities include being dependable, people oriented and adaptable/ flexible.
