Job Description

The captain oversees and manages all aspects of the security contract and is the shift supervisor for dayshift, M-F in addition to all respective security operations for a government client at Fort Detrick, Maryland. The captain is responsible for coordinating and managing all shift supervisors along with security personnel during their assigned shifts. Emphasis on ensuring the safety and security of the client’s facilities and personnel.

Responsibilities

· Functions as a Site Security Manager of Shift Supervisors (Lieutenants), Sergeants, Security Officers, Lead Officers, and other company personnel assigned to one or more posts at client site(s); acts to ensure that all post orders are followed, that established rounds are completed, and that required reports are filed; notifies proper authorities and client in emergency situations.

· Coaches and disciplines personnel as appropriate; seeks advice from company management or designated representatives as appropriate; meets personally with employees and documents coaching and disciplinary actions.

· Trains Security Officers and other company personnel; reviews post orders and other details of assignments with subordinates. Generates, Publishes and Posts monthly working schedules.

· Assists in the submission of payroll and personnel information to the company as designated.

· In conjunction with company management or designated representatives ensures adequate coverage of all posts and positions. Includes after hour communications to ensure no open posts and that all posts are adequately always staffed.

· Prepares, files, and submits various reports as required.

· Inspects posts as scheduled and meets with subordinates to outline tasks and responsibilities.

· Meets with client representatives as scheduled or as needed to provide assurance that all security requirements are being met and to provide quality customer service.

· As assigned, in accordance with applicable company policies and procedures and in compliance with state and federal laws, carries out supervisory duties that can include some or all of the following: interviewing, orienting and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and, making hiring and termination recommendations.

· Manages the duties of all Security Officer (including scheduling training) in accordance with SOW, post orders and company policy.

Qualifications:

• 5-10 years or more of specialized experience as an armed security supervisor/manager
• DOD Top Secret/SCI eligible Clearance (Required)
• At least 21 years of age (Required)
• Must be US citizen (Required)
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Required)
• Experience in writing incident reports (Preferred)
• Experience in creating a work schedule (Preferred)
• Experience personnel management experience
• Experience with emergency management

Background Prerequisites:

· Must undergo and meet company standards for background and reference checks, controlled substance testing, and behavioral selection survey. Must pass all training and medical (PAT) required by DHS/FPS in addition to any mandatory state or federal licensing requirements.

· Must possess a Maryland Armed Security Guard and weapons carry license.

· Must have or be able to obtain valid driver’s license from the state of residence.

· Must have clean driving record per MV

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday dayshift primarily
• Will perform some overnight inspections and weekend training events.
• Some duties may be performed away from the job site as required.

Salary: Averaging 40-50 hours per week
