The Westin Great Southern Columbus is Hiring a Kitchen Lead - Bar Cicchetti Near Columbus, OH

Occupying the ground floor of the historic Westin hotel downtown Columbus, Bar Cicchetti is a rustically refined eatery offering seasonally inspired dishes, including elevated takes on favorite comfort classics. It sets the standard in culinary excellence, blending the welcoming charm of the traditional Italian restaurant with the elegance of the most exciting destinations. The name itself, meaning “to share,” encourages guests to connect with one another over a reinvented selection of Italian crowd favorites and refined cocktails.

Duties:

  • Provide quality, and genuine, hospitality in a timely manner
  •  Help plan and direct food preparation 
  • Adheres to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures
  • Help manage inventory, ordering and receiving
  • Help supervise kitchen staff's activities
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
  • Maintain strong teamwork 
  • Adheres to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Passion for cooking food and ensuring an excellent dining experience for all guests
  • Energetic and genuine positive attitude while interacting with team-members and all guests
  • Must be flexible with schedule and able to work different shifts 
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time 
  • Proven working experience as a Kitchen Lead
  • Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
  • Outstanding communication skills, both electronically and in person.
  • Experience with restaurant equipment troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of back of the house operations including foods, beverages, staff supervision, inventory, and food safety.
  • Maintain sanitation procedures and organization of work area adhering to all OSHA regulations
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.
  • Willing to learn, be flexible, and contribute to an evolving concept
