The Westgate Hotel is Hiring a Director of AquaVie Fitness & Spa Near San Diego, CA

$80k-$95k per year. 

AquaVie Fitness Spa Manager's mission is to create a positive and memorable experience for all guests that visit AquaVie while maintaining operational integrity of the business. This position is self-assured and to stimulate sales growth and build strong relationships with guests and staff. Under the direction of the General Manager, The Director of AquaVie Fitness Spa Services’ purpose is to direct all phases of AquaVie Fitness Wellness Club operations while providing an exceptional employee and member experience. Your fiscal responsibility includes annual revenue budgeting and expenditure forecasting, managing the financial viability of the Club, and ensuring the Club meets all sales and financial obligations. As a member of the senior leadership team and Champion for NPS & Member Retention, the Director of AquaVie Fitness Spa is instrumental in developing and fulfilling the short/long-term goals for Westgate.

Classification: Exempt 

Operational Reports to: General Manager 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position manages all AquaVie team members in assigned area(s) to ensure guests receive the highest level of service and quality on a consistent basis. Areas of responsibility include fitness staff and fitness services, spa staff and spa services, front desk and concierge services and club’s operational staff and services. This position is one of visibility and role modeling for employees, members, and guests within AquaVie Club.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Financial:

  • Work with General Manger to develop, achieve and exceed business and financial plans for club
  • Learn the dynamics of the spa budget to accurately anticipate budgetary goals, staffing levels, spa revenues, expenses etc.
  • Motivate the sales team members to achieve revenue goals by conducting timely and productive sales meetings, and setting and achieving sales goals
  • Identify opportunities for member events, food and beverage services and recreational facilities that satisfy on-going member needs and implement to achieve revenue objectives
  • Monitor member attrition and develop action plans to curtail member attrition and maintain it at the lowest possible level

Client Relations:

  • Provides 5- star service and acts as a role model for all staff – promote and embody the AquaVie brand while maintaining cooperative and professional work relationships with members, guests, staff, and other departments.
  • Responds to all member and spa guest concerns in prompt, professional and courteous manner. This includes, but is not limited to, answering questions, scheduling appointments, answering phones, and addressing complaints.
  • Conduct outside sales efforts and participate in community events, marketing, and spa events to effectively promote, generate leads, and awareness for AquaVie Club and Spa.

Staffing/Training:

  • Recruiting, leading, mentoring, coaching and evaluating AquaVie Fitness Wellness Club Team Members to drive member retention and spa revenue
  • Develop aggressive sales, marketing, and net revenue plans and direct successful implementation to meet or exceed goals.
  • Develop team members for career advancement using Performance Review Systems, cross training, and development planning
  • Perform all disciplinary and other HR related duties such as assessing individual performance, providing coaching as well as employee recognition, etc. for staff members in assigned areas of responsibility
  • Conduct regular meetings to ensure effective communication between management and staff needs. Update and maintain all training manuals.
  • Consistently develop and train AquaVie team members to ensure outstanding customer service

Other Duties:

  • Maintain exceptional Member Relations and Club facilities by creating quality environment in accordance with our brand through staffing, programming, service operations, cleanliness and maintenance
  • Maintain up-to-date licenses for Fitness and Spa service providers as required by law.
  • Ensure that the facility is compliant with all professional state and local guidelines.
  • Ensure all Westgate Hotel Policies & Procedures are adhered to and ensure all club team members are accountable for compliance
  • Completing all required financial and administrative reporting/audits accurately and on time

This position may perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs that may be outside the scope of normal duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY

  1. Protect, promote, and train safety of self, co-workers, and Westgate Hotel guests always.
  2. Promptly report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate manager
  3. Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate manager and appropriate department(s), following documented procedures.
  4. Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Hotel’s Occupational Safety & Health Compliance Manual and department-specific procedures or manuals.
  5. Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury to yourself or others.
  6. Drive in accordance with the law and Westgate Hotel policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The position requires the exercise of considerable managerial skills as position involves frequent decisions, meeting of deadlines, analytical ability and planning, organizational

development, and coordination of large-scale work projects; and ability to deal effectively with internal and external team members. Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime as business needs. Strong customer service background and ability to communicate effectively with members and guests, prospective clients, and staff. Possess excellent leadership and influencer skills and the ability to motivate and inspire staff and develop a strong team culture. Maintain client confidentiality, A minimum of 5 years management experience in fitness & spa industry. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, membership software, spa booking software.
