The Relief Operator is responsible for learning all operator’s functions within the sawmill to provide relief for breaks and vacations. Duties Include:

• Complete routine cleanup and inspections of equipment in the mill.
• Know the sizes of rough and finished lumber.
• Provide relief for breaks and vacations.
• Perform daily quality checks.
• Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations and utilizing safety equipment.
• Must be willing to learn various operator jobs within the mill.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to use a digital caliper measuring tool.
• Ability to work from elevated positions using required safety gear and procedures.
• Ability to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for extended periods.
• Able to work in a variety of environmental conditions.
• Willing to work any shift including weekends, holidays, or overtime as needed.
