SUMMARY:

As the Facilities Director at West Oakland Health, you will be a key leader responsible for overseeing the comprehensive management of facilities, including maintenance, Environmental Services (EVS), and Security. Your role is crucial to ensuring the safety, functionality, and compliance of our healthcare facilities. By managing these critical areas, you will directly contribute to our purpose to be the trusted hub advancing the Bay Area Black community's health and dignity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facility Management:
    • Develop and implement facility management plans to maintain safe, functional, and patient-friendly facilities.
    • Oversee the maintenance and repair of heating, air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
    • Ensure that facility operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, particularly those specific to FQHCs.
    • Collaborate with department heads to assess facility needs and provide solutions.
    • Monitor the cleanliness, security, and general condition of all facilities.
  • Environmental Services (EVS):
    • Lead the EVS team to maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment throughout the healthcare facility.
    • Develop and enforce cleaning and sanitation protocols to meet healthcare standards.
    • Ensure that EVS staff is trained on infection control measures.
    • Oversee the procurement of cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Security:
    • Develop and implement security protocols and procedures to protect patients, staff, and property.
    • Coordinate with security personnel to maintain a secure and safe environment.
    • Manage access control systems, surveillance equipment, and alarm systems.
    • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services for preparedness and response.

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess workflowknowledge.
  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management, including oversight of EVS and security, preferably in a healthcare or FQHC setting.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare facility regulations, security protocols, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience in project management and capital planning.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in budget management and financial analysis.
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices and energy efficiency.
  • Familiarity with emergency preparedness and safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with cross-functional departments.

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Standing and Walking Time Required: At least 20% of thetime.
  • Sitting and typing: 60% - 70%
  • Environmental and Health Hazards: Frequent exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
