Job Title : Foundry Technician

Location : Newton, MS

Onsite / Shift

Purpose of Role : Responsible for the maintenance and repair of the ladles and vessels, relining with multi-components the AOD vessels, bottom pour ladles, transfer ladles and the making of stopper rods, cleans the old linings out of the ladles with the use of a chipping gun and installs the appropriate lining, removes the burned bricks from the AOD vessel and re-bricks the vessel, positions and moves the ladles, vessels and refractory materials with an overhead crane.

Focus Area 1 :

Follows the Ladle Refractory Flow Charts and MWI for all refractory work.

Focus Area :

Maintains the condition of all ladles / vessels by chipping the solidified slag or metal away from all exterior components and building components to maintain rotation of ladles / vessels.

Focus Area :

Must inform Team Leader or supervisor to any unfavorable ladle, vessel or stopper rod conditions / shortages.

Focus Area :

Must perform refractory work on both Ladles & Vessels which will require lifting loads up to 50 lbs.
