Assistant Marina Manager
JOB OVERVIEW
The Assistant Marina Manager will work closely with the Marina Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the marina facility, providing excellent service to our customers while maintaining a safe and efficient environment. This person will assist with both dockside and nautical operations, which encompasses boat fleet maintenance, task delegation, inventory control, including fishing trip guides and houseboat reservations. This person must work closely with The Marina/Adventures Team on promoting The Water Valley Company’s culture, mission, and philosophy.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Greet customers and assist with inquiries, requests, and concerns
Provide information on marina services, rates, and policies
Handle reservations, payments, and rental agreements
Address customer feedback and resolve issues promptly and effectively
Assist in the daily operations of the marina, including boat launches, dock assignments, and fueling services
Oversee maintenance and cleanliness of facilities, including docks, restrooms, and common areas
Monitor marina security and safety protocols, enforcing rules and regulations as needed
Coordinate with maintenance for repairs and services
Maintain accurate records of customer transactions, reservations, and inventory
Assist with scheduling and coordinating staff shifts and tasks
Prepare reports on marina activity, financial performance, and customer feedback
Assist in budget planning and expense tracking
Provide training and guidance to marina staff on customer service protocols, safety procedures, and operational tasks
Supervise staff performance and address any issues or concerns in a timely manner
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous experience in marina operations, hospitality, or related field preferred
At least two years in a management or leadership role required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and marina management software
Knowledge of boating safety regulations and practices is a plus
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed
