The Wall Las Memorias is Hiring a Part-Time Social Media/Communications Assistant Near Los Angeles, CA

Reports to: Marketing & Outreach Coordinator

Office Location: 800 W. 6th St., Los Angeles, CA 90017 and/or 2020 E. 1st St., Los Angeles, CA 90033

Hours: : 20 to 25 Hrs. Per week, M-F 9am-6pm (some nights and weekends will be required)

Salary: $22.00/ hour

Opportunity: To work for highly acclaimed organization which constructed the nation’s only publicly funded AIDS monument and utilizes a community based organizing model to address social justice issues and providing health education and wellness prevention programs such as substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, and mental health. The Wall Las Memorias is nationally respected for its community engagement and outreach.

Mission: The Wall-Las Memorias Project is a community health and wellness organization dedicated to serving Latino, LGBTQ and other underserved populations through advocacy, education and building the next generation of leadership.

Overview: Our agency is seeking a creative and detail oriented Part-Time Social Media assistant to join our team. Ideal candidates will have a passion for social media, excellent communication skills, and the ability to engage and grow our online community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate should demonstrate leadership skills, take initiative, be a self-starter, thrive under pressure, be able to adapt to ever-changing plans, have a passion for creating engaging content and implementing strategies, and be detail-oriented.
Identify, develop, source, curate, create, and maintain a comprehensive social media content calendar, including posts, graphics, and videos, to ensure a consistent and engaging online presence.
Generate creative and relevant content ideas that align with The Wall Las Memorias programming (HIV Testing, Mental Health Awareness, Substance Use Prevention, Advocacy, and Sex Positivity)
Cultivate the community by regularly engaging with creators and customers on social media.
Concept, capture, and edit content.
Assist content manager with social reporting and developing insights based on content performance.
Coordinate with different departments to gather necessary information and ensure completeness of content/projects.
Organize and prioritize assigned tasks to meet deadlines and fulfill projects successfully.
Develop and curate engaging, relevant, and original content for newsletters.
Collaborate with various programs to gather information and updates for inclusion.
Write and edit articles, features, announcements, and other content types.

Qualifications:

AA - Graphic Design, Design Media, or/and 3 years of experience.
Must have video production experience
Must have social media experience (Reels, YouTube Shorts, Tiktok)
Must have basic editing skills
Proficiency in content creation tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Canva.
Attention to detail, organizational skills, and a passion for storytelling are key qualities to excel in this role.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse audiences.
Excellent organizational and project management abilities, problem-solving skills to identify and address challenges promptly.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Knowledge of community issues and understanding of the organization's mission and goals.
Familiarity with email marketing platforms (Nation Builder, Mailchimp)
