NOTE: This position would relocate to South San Francisco, CA upon or recently after being filled.

JOB SUMMARY

Assist in supervision and direction to department staff. Function as a technical expert who supervises the daily operations in the department and addresses issues as they pertain to trouble shooting, quality control, production scheduling, training, equipment maintenance and general daily supervision of your department.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Directs and coordinates production operations to obtain utmost and ongoing efficiency.
• Receive verbal or written instructions from Director of Operations and communicate back information as needed.
• Daily maintenance and operation of printers.
• Verify colors by matching customer requirements.
• Verify substrate is as outlined in job packet.
• Verify Ink adhesive to substrate.
• Record all material usage for printing area.
• Maintain material inventory.
• Color calibration recording (voltage settings, densometer readings and all color proofs).
• Maintain clean working environment.
• Practice safe working habits as trained.
• Secure help if items to be lifted or carried exceed weights given in the physical requirements section of this job description.
• Enter recommendations to management for improvements in areas such as personal safety, quality improvements, better rates and yields, or any other matters that impact shop cost or employee's health and safety.
• Do other tasks as assigned.

CRITICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Familiarity with Digital Graphics and Software related to Digital Graphics, or Prepress.
• High school diploma or GED required, or equivalent experience.
• Prior experience in manufacturing preferred
• Must be familiar with color measurement.
• Must meet physical requirements as noted in this Job Description.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Lifting up to 60 lbs.
• Pushing and pulling up to 150 lbs.
• Frequent bending.
• 20/20 vision and no colorblindness.
• Able to stand for an entire shift.
