The Vollrath Company is Hiring an Industrial Electrician Journeyworker -3rd Shift Near Sheboygan, WI

Hiring Requirements: This position requires the individual to be a certified Industrial Electrician Journeyman.

General Responsibilities:

The individual is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of all electrical systems within the Vollrath facility. Perform all required electrical and electronic installation and repair services to plant equipment, in conformance with established codes, specifications and safety practices. This includes responsibility to assure that electrical systems are safe and running efficiently. Diagnosing and repairing of large industrial electrical equipment, control systems, and robotic manufacturing cells is required. Work includes installation of new capital equipment and the maintenance of older, pre-existing systems.

Specific Responsibilities.

  • Keeps machinery and equipment in a state of good repair.
  • When breakdowns occur, must be able to diagnose the cause of failure and make necessary repairs.
  • Must be able to read, follow, and understand engineering specifications, schematics, and electrical code specifications in maintaining and repairing equipment.
  • Connects power to machines or equipment and tests unit to evaluate its electrical and mechanical operation.
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, tests, maintains and repairs electrical fixtures, apparatus and wiring used in electrical systems.
  • Bends and installs conduit, runs wires, and makes hookups. Installs lighting and power circuits, power and control equipment.
  • Connects cables in master distribution cabinets. Connects motors and generators.
  • Installs and services electrical contact rails. Wires bus ducts, troughs, switchboards, switchgear, transformers, motors and generators.
  • Diagnoses trouble in lighting and power circuits. Adjust and repair welders. Checks, repairs and adjusts electrical solenoids. Checks, repairs and adjusts limit switches.
  • Locates and repairs faulty electrical equipment. Repairs AC and DC starters. Changes or replaces bulbs, starters, and ballasts.
  • Repairs heating appliances, electric meters, and electrical welding controls. Connects equipment transformers, meters, and relays. Adjusts timing relays.
  • Motor repair. Testing and reconditioning of large and small AC and DC motors. Checks and tests electrical motor circuits.
  • Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators in order to diagnose equipment problems.
  • Observes and tests the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Troubleshoots, identifies, and replaces defective components of electrical systems.
  • Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, and other electrical components.
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
  • Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors.
  • Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records

  6. Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment -- Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment such as forklifts and Arial lifts.
  7. Performing General Physical Activities -- Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
  8. Communicating with Supervisors and Peers -- Providing information to supervisors and co-workers by telephone, email, in written form, or in person.
  9. Find Creative Solutions -- Developing, designing, or creating new devises or applications to solve equipment related problems when clear solutions are not evident.
  10. Updating and Using Relevant Knowledge -- Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
