As a Senior Software Engineer, Financial Systems, you will work closely with our Trading, Middle Office, Fund Accounting, and Operations staff to understand their requirements and build and manage their underlying systems. This role is a means to make a difference: you will own mission critical systems intersecting multiple operational segments of the business.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Trading, Middle Office, Fund Accounting, and Operations staff to translate requirements into software automating these functions’ systems
- Own the design and implementation of new trading, middle office, accounting, and operations systems, dashboards, and reports
- Manage the delivery and processing of heterogeneous data to various business functions
- Ensure data accuracy and timeliness through automating quality control and developing efficient processes for correcting and diagnosing data issues
- Mentor other software engineers
Requirements
- Software development experience in a Linux environment with a focus on data correctness. Python experience is preferred
- Strong cross-functional project leadership skills including gathering requirements from multiple business stakeholders and overseeing design and architecture decisions
- Outstanding personal responsibility, diligence, and attention to detail
- Exposure to and/or interest in mentoring others
- Experience with data pipelines and managing heterogeneous data sources is preferred
- Eagerness to work with teams with various technical abilities and functions.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, related technical field
Preferred Qualifications
- Significant professional experience in institutional finance, trading, or accounting with exposure to applicable systems and terminology used in these functions
- Familiarity with trading systems and financial data including FIX protocol is preferred
