Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:
Supervise all Dining Room activities in Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Support.
Manage services within budgetary guidelines, while meeting or exceeding service standards. Responsible
for all front-of-the-house activity, including catering and special events.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all
inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Assist Executive Chef with food delivery, inventory, and P.O.S. system.
  • Provide structure and training for dining room personnel.
  • Plan, staff, organize and coordinate all activities in the dining areas of Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Support.
  • Responsible for continuous evaluation and Quality Assurance audits of Dining Services.
  • Provide service support for dining room personnel.
  • Assist Executive Chef in the development of the operating budget.
  • Maintain or exceed standards of appearance, cleanliness, hygiene, and health standards.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of meal count reports utilizing the POS system in the community.
  • Perform all other tasks as assigned by the supervisor or Executive Chef.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Hold regular in-service and training sessions with staff.
  • Maintain up-to-date employee records.
  • Responsible for scheduling of Dining Services staff in accordance with the annual budget.
  • Responsible for applying progressive disciplinary process with Dining Services Staff when
    necessary.

Educational Requirements and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited course in food service training
  • Two years of food service experience with knowledge of volume preparation, catering banquets,
    decorative buffets, and special events.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Able to provide dining services for the elderly that meet/exceed hospitality and service standards.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with residents, guests, employees and supervisors.
  • Ability to plan and direct the work of others.
  • Must be able to work all Holidays and for pre-planned special events.
