THE VILLAGE FOR FAMILIES & CHILDREN is Hiring a Trauma Clinician- (Full Time/Part Time) Near Hartford, CT

Job Description:


Full-time: Annual salary $54,000 and commensurate with experience for licensed eligible clinician; $60,000 and commensurate with experience for licensed clinician. Part-time pays prorated annual salary.

Sign on-bonus - $3000

JOB SUMMARY

Provide stabilization, abbreviated assessment and linkage to appropriate treatment services children/adolescents and families impacted by crime. Maintain strong relationships with judicial, police, hospital, child welfare, and domestic violence shelters. Upon referral, respond to police, hospital or other settings within expected timeframe. Clinician is responsible for reflective group supervision weekly and maintaining clinical documentation according to licensing, accreditation, Medicaid, Child FIRST and OVS requirements. Participate in community meetings such as Hartford Multidisciplinary Team. Maintain a strong current knowledge base of services and supports available within the community including the availability of appropriate Evidenced Based Treatment Models.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct services may include, but not limited to:
    • Conducts (comprehensive) clinical assessments and engagement
    • Determines DSM V Diagnosis in consultation with supervisor, Medical Director, Psychiatrist, medical provider or designee as needed.
    • Develops treatment plans and contracts for services
    • Implements treatment plans, modifying it as appropriate during the course of treatment.
    • Discharge planning, which may include linkages to community support services
    • Provides case management services
    • Completes clinical documentation required by agency and program policies, HIPAA regulations, and funding sources
    • Maintains productivity targets determined by service
  • Participates and presents in Peer Consultation and Quality Assurance Reviews.
  • Fosters collaboration with other clinical and administrative staff to respond to client and programmatic needs, including the implementation of agency policies, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Partners with other program or clinical staff to identify and develop approaches to address clients’ unmet needs or service gaps.
  • Acquires and maintains the needed skills in evidenced based models that the agency/program ascribe to.
  • Partners with Supervisor to identify and develop plans for professional growth.
  • Contributes to program functioning by assuming responsibility for special tasks or leadership in special projects as appropriate.
  • Contributes to agency organizational life by participating in agency wide task forces, committees or problem-solving teams as appropriate.
  • Contributes to agency visibility and development of community linkages by representing the Village in community groups or committees.

Required Experience:


EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or other licensed counseling degree.
  • State of CT license preferred (i.e. LCSW, LPC, LMFT, Psychologist)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience postgraduate in an outpatient setting (depending on program*).
  • Bilingual/bicultural skills preferred.
  • Cultural competency to serve a diverse population.
  • Strong diagnostic, assessment and treatment skills for individual, family and group therapy.
  • Extensive experience working with culturally diverse populations, a wide age range, and a variety of clinical presentations.
  • Knowledge of mental health, child welfare systems, and community resources.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to function autonomously in day-to-day responsibilities; yet seek consultation appropriately when needed.
  • Proficiency with word processing and general computer skills.
