Job Description:


Starting salary $54,000 per year plus $10,000 sign- on Bonus

If so, we have the perfect position for you allowing you the opportunity to work on part of a multidisciplinary team where all of your input and perspectives are valued and you are able to touch multiple aspects of our clients live ultimately improving functioning for the whole family system. In this role, there is the structure of the IICAPS model, supervision and training provided, yet the flexibility to try out new interventions and cater our treatment to best meet the needs of the families and children we serve.

Provides intensive home based services to children at risk for psychiatric hospitalization. Services provided include individual and family therapy, parenting skills training, around the clock crisis support, extensive case management, and advocacy. IICAPS operates from a team approach and consists of a Clinician and Mental Health Counselor, both of whom participate in sessions and treatment meetings. Participates in implementation of treatment plan, modifying as appropriate during the course of service; Services provided are in collaboration with DCF, schools, and other community based providers. Team is responsible for attending Rounds and group supervision weekly and maintaining clinical documentation according to licensing, accreditation, Medicaid, and Yale requirements. Purposes of services are to stabilize the child in the home and transition to traditional outpatient services, improve family functioning, and connect the child with the community in a positive way. There is expected consultation and coordination care with Psychiatric providers if appropriate. Must maintain productivity targets determined by Service and remain current on all model training requirements.

*Sign-On Bonus will be paid out over two years*
Required Experience:

  • Clinical degree in social work, psychology, or other licensed-eligible counseling degree
  • Bilingual/bicultural skills preferred.
  • Cultural competency to serve a diverse population
  • Strong diagnostic, assessment and treatment skills for individual, family and group therapy.
  • Extensive experience working with culturally diverse urban populations, a wide age range, and a variety of clinical presentations.
  • Knowledge of mental health, child welfare systems, and community resources.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to function autonomously in day to day responsibilities; yet, seek consultation appropriately when needed.
  • Proficiency with word processing and general computer skills.
  • Physically able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations. These responsibilities include but are not limited to, the ability to function safely in a therapeutic situation, including provision of services in client homes or host settings.
