Job Description

Assistant Project Managers conduct due diligence assessments and subsurface investigation and environmental remediation tasks and regularly assist more senior colleagues with management tasks including proposal preparation and project management.

  • Conduct Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) and Property Condition Assessments (PCA), New Jersey Preliminary Assessments (PA), commercial energy usage assessments, subsurface investigations, remediation work, and/or other project assignments as appropriate.
  • Write detailed ESA, PCA, energy audits and/or other technical assessment reports including the preparation of accurate data/summary tables and/or figures.
  • Assist senior managers in the coordination of work activities for multiple project functions to ensure satisfying delivery.
  • Assist senior managers in the meeting milestones, budgetary limits, deadlines, or other performance indicators.
  • Assist in the selection and/or management of project staff members and subcontractors.
  • Make employee safety a priority both in-house and on-site, in accordance with corporate policy.
  • Prepare and implement Health and Safety Plans/Job Safety Analyses for sites.
  • Meet utilization and other performance metrics as assigned by supervisor.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, or related environmental field required. Masters degree and/or professional licensure a plus.
  • 2 years of professional experience in an environment scientist role conducting Phase I assessments and New Jersey Preliminary Assessments (PA).
  • Working knowledge of ASTM Phase I ESA standards, state environmental regulations (NJ, NY, PA) and NJDEP Preliminary Assessment guidance to be able to independently identify Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs) and Areas of Concern (AOC).
  • Experience with collection of soil, groundwater, soil gas, indoor air sampling, and conducting PCAs a plus.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong technical report writing skills.
  • Able to perform multiple tasks and handle multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Suite required. Familiarity with AutoCAD, TurboCAD, and/or Geographic Information Systems (GIS) programs a plus.
  • Ability/willingness for frequent regional travel with some national travel for field work. Valid driver’s license is required.
Additional Information

Physical requirements include ability to walk job sites during inspections, sometimes on uneven terrain, climbing of ladders to access and evaluate roofing conditions and roof mounted equipment when conducting PCA projects, and carry field testing equipment (up to 30 pounds) onto job sites with regularity.
