Associate Copywriter

The Position

Finding the right words to connect with our customers is more important than ever. The Vermont Country Store was founded by a master storyteller, so we know that it’s not just what you say, but how you say it that makes the difference in reaching your audience and winning over their hearts and minds.

We are looking for an Associate Copywriter who has a keen imagination and loves learning about new things. You have a knack for crafting stories that connect brands and products with customers to inspire them to take action (click, shop, buy). You're able to adapt your copywriting style to create a cohesive voice across all mediums, including websites, emails, blog posts, and catalogs to grow brand awareness, revenue and customer loyalty. Who We’re Looking For

• A copywriter with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience

• A copywriter with a strong curiosity to learn about new products, customers, and our business with the creativity to apply these learnings to your work
• A copywriter with strong proofreading and copyediting skills (including spelling, grammar, and punctuation) and attention to detail that results in exceptional accuracy
• A copywriter with excellent time management stills with the ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
• A copywriter with the ability to communicate effectively, exhibit sound judgment, and interact professionally with coworkers and leadership
• A copywriter who enjoys working independently with an openness to collaborate with team members across various departments
• A copywriter who is a keen listener and is open to and incorporates direction and constructive feedback
• A copywriter who thrives in a fast-paced work environment
• A copywriter with experience using Mac-based applications, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite

A Sampling of What You’ll Do

• Write benefit-driven product copy descriptions for our print catalog
• Write SEO-friendly and benefit-driven product copy descriptions for our website
• Collaborate with designers to create catalog features and stories
• Edit catalog copy on page in InDesign
• Write product label copy
• Attend seasonal product turnovers
• Fact check product information to ensure accuracy
• Proofread and edit catalog and web copy
• Update web and catalog copy as needed

Where We Are

Candidates who are residents of Vermont are eligible to enjoy a hybrid work arrangement, working onsite from our Main Office in Manchester Center, Vermont, and at home. This hybrid position requires in-person work three days per week at 5650 Main Street, Manchester Center, Vermont. All candidates must be within a commutable distance to, and available to work from, our office in Manchester Center, a tranquil Vermont town with numerous shops, restaurants, and cultural events. The surrounding area provides ample opportunity for outdoor activities including skiing, biking, and hiking. It’s a wonderful place to set down roots, a great environment to raise a family with a strong school system and many activities for children.
