Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with the dentist to provide quality care to our patients. Your role will involve assisting with restorative dental procedures, greeting patients and gathering information in order to provide focused care, maintaining a smooth schedule, ensuring infection control protocols are followed, maintaining accurate charts and supporting Team members as needed. You are a good listener and confident in your delivery of care. You consistently bring a positive CAN DO attitude to work.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations
- Assist the dentist during procedures
- Take and develop dental x-rays or scans using digital imaging software
- Perform basic dental laboratory procedures, such as pouring models and fabricating temporary crowns
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Provide patients with post-operative instructions for oral care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using Dentrix
- Follow strict infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and proper disposal of hazardous materials
- Take vital signs of patients as needed
- Manage lab and timely seating of occlusal guards, crown restorations
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a dental assisting program preferred
- Valid certification in dental assisting required
- Familiarity with dental imaging techniques and equipment, including Itero
- Knowledge of dental anatomy, oral health procedures, and terminology
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality guidelines
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, dentists, and other team members
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate recordkeeping and adherence to infection control protocols
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism
- Proficient in using dental instruments and equipment safely and effectively
