Responsibilities/ Job DescriptionRequired to assist healthcare personnel in patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and care instructionWork closely with patients who are sick or injured assisting and/or preparing patients for examination treatments, and proceduresAnticipate clinician or healthcare professional procedure needs, ensure necessary tools and supplies are ready in advanceEnsure that patient treatment and exam rooms are kept clean and organized for future patientsAssist in preparation and/or collection of blood samples and specimens, dressing wounds, and administering medications as delegatedDocument patient vital signs and medical history into electronic healthcare record as directedPerform various administrative tasks as assignedRespond to emergency situations consistent with the level of trainingAdhere to clinic policies and proceduresPerforms other work and activities as required or assigned
Education, Skills, and ExperienceCertified Medical Assistant from an accredited program (American Registry of Medical Assistants (RMA), American Association of Medical Assistants (AMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistants (CCMA) throughthe National Health career Association and able to maintain certificationMinimum 3 years of experience working in an acute ambulatory healthcare setting or hospital
Required Certificates, Licenses, and RegistrationsMedical Assistant Certification (CCMA, CMA (AAMA), RMA, NCMA)Basic Life Support (BLS) certified
