The University of Vermont Medical Center is Hiring a Pharmacist (Night) Lead Near Burlington, VT

This position is for a full-time (0.9 FTE, 72 hours per 2 week pay period) night shift pharmacist, 7 nights on/7 nights off, or equivalent schedule.

Special benefits of the Night Lead role:

  • Higher base salary in the pay range above the regular/rotating-shift Pharmacist position.
  • Night shift hourly differential applied on top of base salary to any night hours, after 11pm until end of shift: weekday night $6/hour, weekend night $9.50/hour.
  • Eligibility for the Night Hours Incentive Program: a quarterly lump sum payment of 3.0% of total gross wages earned for all night shift hours during the quarter.
  • Option to work up to 8 additional admin/office hours per two-week pay period.
  • Onsite parking for night shifts.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Night Lead Pharmacist serves as the sole Pharmacist resource during the night shift. The Night Lead Pharmacist assures the appropriateness of drug therapy as described in the position accountabilities from a hospital-wide shift-specific perspective. The Night Lead Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring that the medication needs of inpatients and outpatients are accurately met and for maintaining all necessary records. In collaboration with the Pharmacy leadership team, the Night Lead Pharmacist provides leadership, consultation, and collaboration in a dynamic, multidisciplinary teaching environment and is the primary back-up for front line managers.

EDUCATION:

Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (preferred) or Bachelor of Science Degree from an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy required. ASHP accredited Pharmacy Residency or equivalent experience preferred. Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Vermont required.

EXPERIENCE:

Two years clinical pharmacist experience in a health system preferred.
