JOB SUMMARY:

Provides management and leadership to nursing units and supports personnel.This includes fiscal responsibility, HR Management and QI activities. Directs and ensures all residents are assessed and their care is planned, implemented and evaluated by competent staff. Facilitates Interdisciplinary Team Conferences. Shares responsibility for continuing education of department and staff. Responsible for meeting CMS/DOH standards for nursing practice and long-term care guidance; assist in managing all personnel, equipment and supplies on nursing units; promoting teamwork with medical staff, personnel of other departments, outside agencies and affiliates. Knowledgeable of all union contracts.

EDUCATION:

Registered Nurse with a NYS license. BLS required. 

EXPERIENCE:

• Long-term care experience preferred.
• Leadership skills, ability to work under stressful situations.
• Skills and knowledge to sustain and evaluate clinical competence in caring for specific age and type of resident population served.
• As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of patients for which care is being provided.
