Responsibilities Researches, analyzes, designs, codes, tests, and integrates technical software, software infrastructure, frameworks, application development tools and other related software. Conducts research on new technologies, new approaches, and new standards and often applies research to prototypes. If prototype is successful, often takes a lead role in defining parameters for making system production ready. Designs complex infrastructural software systems that address broad technical needs. Designs and/or writes system programs to optimize and/or simplify systems-related tasks and develop and document clear application programming interfaces. Researches available solutions and integrates them into existing computing environments. Serves as a mentor to application developers who are building their skills in a highly technically challenging area. Required Qualifications Five or more years of experience designing, developing, and testing complex software for administrative systems. Experience writing software in Python or other object-oriented languages. Experience with Oracle and SQL. Experience in some aspect of delivering successful projects that span units. Ability to work across organizational units to achieve goals. Ability to estimate and establish milestones on a project. Experience documenting and testing complex processes. Exceptional analytical, multi-tasking, and problem solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Self-managed and highly motivated with a strong drive for delivering high quality results. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree with more than seven years of demonstrated experience. Experience writing software in Natural/ADABAS. Experience with UT Austin’s administrative systems and technical infrastructure. Familiarity with AWS data warehousing tools. Experience with Workday and Tableau. Experience working with a variety of groups and organizational levels. Supervisory experience or experience serving as a project lead on one or more significant technology projects. Possess a broad and deep knowledge of software development and programming languages. Salary Range $90,000 depending on qualifications Working Conditions May work around standard office conditions. Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
