Visiting Lab Instructor Positions in Biology

Biological Sciences - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (24001505)

The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for up to six full-time Visiting Lab Instructors for the 2024-2025 academic year, each on a two-term basis, with an anticipated start date of 26 August 2024. The positions are outside of the tenure stream, subject to annual review, and entail teaching four sections each term of introductory biology authentic research laboratory courses. Minimum qualifications are an MS degree in Biology or a related field (or MS in Education with a BS in Biology), with some teaching experience; preferred qualifications are the publication of post-graduate research work or a Ph.D. in the biological sciences, the ability to also teach microbiology or physiology lab courses, formal training in teaching, experience as sole instructor of a laboratory course, and experience teaching an authentic-research laboratory course. Teaching evening sections may be needed. Lab Instructors must be able to participate in on-campus activities in person.
