Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Development is an entrepreneurial and collaborative fundraising professional who will join a growing and dynamic fundraising team that is reshaping the philanthropic program and culture at UConn Health. Together with the UConn Health development team, they will fuel scientific research, medical education, and patient care with impactful philanthropy The Assistant Director serves as a development professional for the UConn Health Center and the grateful patient fundraising program.
The Assistant Director is a frontline fundraiser primarily focused on securing leadership ($1,000 ) and major ($50,000 ) gifts for UConn Health. The Assistant Director will work with the Sr Director on the implementation of annual development plans for assigned clinical areas and will work closely with key faculty and clinicians. The Assistant Director will also manage a caseload of current and prospective donors and solicit them at giving levels that achieve annual fundraising goals and propel UConn Health forward.

UConn Health, comprised of John Dempsey Hospital, UConn School of Medicine, and UConn School of Dental Medicine based at the Farmington campus, is a vibrant, integrated academic medical center that is in an era of unprecedented growth in all three areas of its mission: academics, research, and clinical care. John Dempsey Hospital includes the University Tower and the Connecticut Tower, which combined has over 400,000 sq ft of clinical space and 169 patient rooms. The Medical School is ranked as one of the top 10 most diverse medical schools in the nation, with 400 medical students, 300 graduate students, and 685 medical residents and fellows. The Dental School has approximately 1700 alumni since the first D.M.D class in 1972. Over 65% of the dental alumni live and practice in the tri state area. Both Schools are celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2021-2022.
