A staff nurse is a registered professional nurse (RN) who manages patient centered care that is outcome directed. Patient centered care principles and professional nursing practice standards provide the foundation for the nurse to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care provided. The staff nurse assumes the primary responsibility and accountability for all patient care personally provided and that provided by those directly under her/his supervision.
In this role as a Staff Nurse, you will prescribe, delegate and coordinate nursing care to the acutely ill patient through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation. You will also effectively interact with patient, significant others, and other health team members, while maintaining ANA standards of professional nursing practice and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guideline s and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The General Medicine Unit (4SE) is an 18-bed, fully telemetry capable unit that is functional 24 hours a day, seven days per week. This department treats a wide variety of Adult inpatient populations (at or above 18 years of age) with various types of medical conditions alongside a multidisciplinary team.
