The Turnip Truck is Hiring a Receiving Coordinator Near Nashville, TN

Position: Receiving Coordinator

Purpose: The Receiving Coordinator at The Turnip Truck is responsible for accurately managing inventory data, maintaining price integrity, and ensuring smooth operations within the receiving department. You will work to enter, track, and adjust inventory and prices for the store, in coordination with accounts payable & department staff. You will be a part of the administrative team and will report to the Chief Financial Officer.

Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Receiving:
  • Receive and process all inventory invoices into the network database.
  • Keep accurate and organized records of all invoices.
  • Troubleshoot receiving and billing issues with accounts payable to ensure accurate and timely processing.
  • Maintain courteous, professional relationships with vendors.
  • Answer and route phone calls as needed.

  • Data Entry and Deadlines
    :
  • Enter new inventory data, including new items, suggested retail prices (SRPs), suppliers, and brands.
  • Update existing inventory data as necessary to ensure accuracy.
  • Meet receiving deadlines in accordance with department inventory schedules.
  • Maintain a clean and organized office space.
  • Perform other administrative and clerical tasks as required.
  • Operate 10-key calculators, computers, and copiers to perform calculations and produce documents.

  • Price Accuracy and Inventory Management:
  • Ensure the accuracy of pricing throughout the store.
  • Inform management of any discrepancies in pricing or signage.
  • Promote 100% scan accuracy in the store.
  • Work closely with managers to ensure scanning accuracy and correct pricing.
  • Monitor sale events for scanning and signage accuracy.
  • Maintain current knowledge of monthly ad items and ensure their pricing integrity.
  • Monitor cost increases and adjust prices according to set store margins.

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to read small print and perform repetitive arm and hand movements.
  • Occasional kneeling, climbing, and bending.
  • Ability to reach overhead, front, side, and back.
  • Lift and carry up to ten pounds regularly.
  • Prolonged sitting and occasional prolonged standing.
  • Walking short to moderate distances regularly.
  • Ability to read, write, analyze, understand, and interpret job-related documents.
  • Compose and write reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, and departmental memos.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to give clear direction.
  • Ability to organize tasks, set priorities, and perform/direct multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Use basic problem-solving techniques and make independent judgments based on data and circumstances.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with others.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in inventory management or a similar role.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and office equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
