This position involves partnering with the school district's UPK program in a classroom with up to 18 four-year old children.

*Must have at minimum Associate's degree in education, early childhood education, or related field, and experience working in a NYS licensed preschool classroom*

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Implement Creative Curriculum and supplement curriculum to inspire children and encourage their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth
• Create classroom schedules
• Give individual attention to children in classroom and maintain flexibility as to modify the classroom environment to meet the needs of individual children
• Create an inclusive environment for children with special needs as much as possible without undue disruption
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of classrooms
• Maintain child accountability at all times
• Partner with parents to support, guide and share in their child s growth and development
• Maintain open communication with parents to provide consistency for children
• Host parent teacher conferences twice a year, or on an as needed basis
• Conduct assessments for individual children using ASQ-3 assessments
• Be familiar with Teaching Strategies Gold and the input of information for developmental assessments
• Use Procare Engage app (or Parent Square) to keep parents informed of their child’s daily activities.
• Supervising all assistant teachers, including floaters and subs, and ensuring everyone in their classroom is following rules/regulations and maintaining appropriate conduct.
