As a critical member of The Towers at Tower Lane’s Maintenance Team, the Apartment Readiness Technician will help support our principles and values by performing the repairs necessary to maintain the facilities of The Towers at Tower Lane.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
· Assess and evaluate vacant apartment according to criteria determined by Maintenance Supervisor and the Director of Operations.
· Maintain or replace carpet and other flooring as needed.
· Check air conditioning unit, heating unit, and all appliances; make minor repairs if needed.
· Repair or replace baseboards or trim as needed.
· Polish and varnish, repair, and replace cabinets and other woodwork as needed.
· Repair holes in walls and perform painting duties as needed.
· Clean apartment (including kitchens and bathrooms) before next tenant moves in.
· Basic mechanical repairs [door locks, window blind replacement].
· Perform all non-licensed tasks for preventative maintenance of building equipment as scheduled and determined appropriate by the Maintenance Supervisor or Director of Operations.
o This is to include Plumbing – replace and/or repair toilets, faucets, sinks, etc.;
o Electrical – replace and/or repair light fixtures, switches, outlets, etc.;
o Carpentry – interior construction, replace and/or install cabinets, closet doors, etc.;
o Painting - throughout the facility. Shares twenty-four hour on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Training and Experience
High School Diploma, GED, Trade School, or Vocational School degree. Minimum 3 years experience in performing general maintenance and repairs (i.e., plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, landscaping and carpentry). Certification or licensure in areas indicated above, preferred. Experience in an eldercare or geriatric environment preferred.
