The TCW Group is Hiring a VP, Vendor Management Near New York, NY

Position Summary

The VP, Vendor Management will be a member of TCW’s Global Sourcing & Procurement team (GS&P) and will work closely with the Head of Global Sourcing & Procurement to create and establish a new Vendor Management program at TCW. The goal is to align department objectives and strategies with best practices and industry standards around vendor management. The VP, Vendor Management will develop key vendor management competencies, drive clear quantifiable and measurable results, manage the communication process with vendors, and identify drivers, shifts, market dynamics, and trends to advise the business on best vendor management strategy.

Essential Duties

  • Work with the Head of Global Sourcing & Procurement to create a robust Vendor Management Program for TCW.
  • Strategically partner with business unit leaders by providing Vendor Management expertise to the firm. Build strong relationships with business stakeholders as well strategic vendors in TCW’s vendor portfolio.
  • Manage strategic vendor relationships as the key point of contact between specified vendors and key business stakeholders. Conduct QBR’s (Quarterly Business Reviews) with business leaders and vendors in order to improve and optimize performance.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for vendor issues and disputes and drive those issues to resolution. Correct failed activities or functionality by identifying vendor performance issues and analyzing the root cause. This includes working with Stakeholders and Legal in order to terminate contracts where needed.
  • Communicate to Global Sourcing & Procurement the performance of all strategic vendors. Keep them abreast of any concerns or risks. Recommend when there is a need based upon performance to initiate RFPs in any given space.
  • Develop standard SLAs and KPI’s for departments including but not limited to Technology and Wealth Management Data vendors. Work with business stakeholders on developing custom SLA’s and KPI’s for strategic relationships or contracts where needed.
  • Create a reporting and measurement of vendor performance, including the development of scorecards and dashboards that will accurately present this data.
  • Maintain vendor risk assessments or risk registers in cooperation with risk, privacy, business continuity and security teams.
  • Collaborate with team members in GS&P in implementing a vendor selection program to ensure that the best vendors are chosen.
  • Assist GS&P with RFPs across the firm when needed.
  • Work with GS&P to negotiate vendor contracts when needed.
  • Conduct and educate stakeholder trainings on the vendor management program.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, supply chain, finance or a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience, skills, training, and education
  • Experience in creating a robust Vendor Management program with proven results
  • Comfortable in addressing strategic vendor relationships and developing strategies that look to reduce overall cost or risk
  • 7 years of experience in Vendor Management, Sourcing, and/or Procurement with knowledge in the technology or wealth management arena

Desired Qualifications

  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)

Estimated Compensation:

Base Salary: For NY based position, the base salary range is $140k to $170k. This is an anticipated range only.

Other Compensation: Eligible to be considered for an annual discretionary bonus
