Position Summary

As a pivotal Risk & Research Technology department member, the Risk & Research Core Systems Manager will wield their extensive experience to exert technical leadership across the entire software development lifecycle. We seek an adept, hands-on technical professional with an unbridled passion for spearheading and guiding organizations through technological innovation and implementing engineering best practices.

You will play a key role in seamlessly integrating the Risk & Research platform with our Modern Portfolio Management Platform, ensuring a harmonious fusion of cutting-edge technology and data-driven insights. Additionally, you will lead the charge in modernizing our platform to the cloud, leveraging your technical acumen to harness the scalability, flexibility, and efficiency of cloud platforms like MS Azure and Snowflake offer.

Essential Duties

• Define and direct the trajectory, execution, and integration of advanced Risk & Research Core Platforms.
• Lead and nurture the Risk & Research Core Systems team, focusing on recruiting, retaining, and developing top technical talent.
• Collaborate seamlessly with enterprise technology functions and Risk & Research teams, aligning efforts to achieve strategic goals across Risk & Research, Technology, and Operations.
• Steer the evolution of development and operational practices that underpin the Risk & Research Platform, while actively contributing to product development strategies.

Required Qualifications

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Engineering
• 8 years of hands-on enterprise engineering experience, with 2 years in leadership
• 5 years of engagements within the financial industry, preferably with a focus on asset management
• 5 years leading design in key technologies: C#, .NET, Python, SQL, with a good grasp of DevSecOps
• 3 years’ proven track record managing Agile projects
• 2 years spearheading cloud-driven product strategies on MS Azure, and Snowflake, with mastery in IAC and PAC principles

• Exhibit strong problem-solving skills, adeptly tackling intricate software challenges, especially in finance
• Prioritize effectively, delivering results for timely and budgeted platform enhancements
• Communicate adeptly across technical and non-technical teams, as well as senior management
• Quickly grasp and master new finance concepts and technologies, staying aligned with industry trends
• Collaborate seamlessly within cross-functional teams, leading development while offering technical mentorship

Desired Qualifications

• Desirable qualifications may encompass certifications like PMP (Project Management Professional), CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management), or similar project management certifications
• Optional Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a quantitative field
• Notable expertise in Domain Modeling for Investment Systems, especially in Fixed Income and Derivatives

Estimated Compensation:

Base Salary: For California based position, the base salary range is $190k to $200k. This is an anticipated range only.

Other Compensation: Eligible to be considered for an annual discretionary bonus
