The Tandym Group is Hiring a Tax Director - Real Estate / Private Client Services Near Fort Lauderdale, FL

A professional services firm in Florida is currently seeking an experienced Tax professional to join their team in Fort Lauderdale as a Tax Director and help focus on Real Estate / Private Client Services.

Responsibilities:
The Tax Director will:

  • Develop engagement budgets, coordinate required resources, bill engagements, and manage performance against stated objectives
  • Provide timely onsite review of and feedback on the work of other tax personnel.
  • Address extremely complex tax and accounting issues
  • Review all finished tax deliverables and tax accruals for accuracy and completeness
  • Provide the engagement partner responsible for the tax work with timely status updates
  • Lead a team that provides tax and consulting services to flow through entities and their related owners in a variety of industries with a concentration in Real Estate or construction
  • Plan to minimize the tax costs incurred by employers and mitigate the effects of international employees’ individual tax liabilities
  • Contribute to overall office efficiency by providing feedback on staff performance, participating in initiatives for on-going staff development, and developing a teaming culture
  • Identify opportunities for expanded services to prospective and existing clients
  • Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
  • 10 years of experience in Public Accounting role/setting
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • An active CPA license
  • Experience preparing complex Federal, Corporate (C and S), Multi-state, Individual, and Partnership returns
  • Basic knowledge of Financial Services products
  • Strong understanding of IRS practice and procedure.
  • Ability to review complex tax planning projects and identification of additional planning opportunities
  • Microsoft Excel proficient
  • Solid analytical, mathematical, and research skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
Desired Skills:
  • Master's Degree
  • Experience with REITs, real estate funds, and/or developers
