The Tandym Group is Hiring a SEC Reporting Manager / Director Near New York, NY
A New York City-based financial services firm is currently seeking an experienced professional to join their team as their new SEC Reporting Manager / Director. In this role, the SEC Reporting Manager / Director will be responsible for leading the preparation of financial statements, MD&A and disclosures to meet the company’s quarterly and annual SEC reporting requirements, as well as to meet the company’s statutory reporting requirements. Responsibilities: The SEC Reporting Manager / Director will:
Lead the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC reporting documents and disclosures
Build an understanding for future SEC reporting updates, including preparing updated disclosures and assisting in implementing new financial reporting processes, as necessary
Support capital raising and other significant transactions, including the preparation of proformas and other financial disclosures
Develop and document processes and procedures in the consolidation and financial reporting function, including leading improvements to processes where warranted
Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements and the identification and accounting for any differences between US GAAP and IFRS or local GAAP
Maintain compliance with SOX requirements
Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
5 years of Accounting experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or a related field
Comprehensive understanding of GAAP, financial reporting and internal control frameworks and requirements
Microsoft Excel proficient
Solid analytical, mathematical, and research skills
Great interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong attention to detail
Highly organized
Desired Skills:
Experience with a Big 4 accounting firm
Experience within Capital Markets and Accounting Advisory specialty groups
