The Tandym Group is Hiring a SEC Reporting Manager / Director Near New York, NY

A New York City-based financial services firm is currently seeking an experienced professional to join their team as their new SEC Reporting Manager / Director. In this role, the SEC Reporting Manager / Director will be responsible for leading the preparation of financial statements, MD&A and disclosures to meet the company’s quarterly and annual SEC reporting requirements, as well as to meet the company’s statutory reporting requirements. 
Responsibilities:
The SEC Reporting Manager / Director will:
  • Lead the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC reporting documents and disclosures
  • Build an understanding for future SEC reporting updates, including preparing updated disclosures and assisting in implementing new financial reporting processes, as necessary
  • Support capital raising and other significant transactions, including the preparation of proformas and other financial disclosures
  • Develop and document processes and procedures in the consolidation and financial reporting function, including leading improvements to processes where warranted
  • Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements and the identification and accounting for any differences between US GAAP and IFRS or local GAAP
  • Maintain compliance with SOX requirements
  • Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
  • 5 years of Accounting experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or a related field
  • Comprehensive understanding of GAAP, financial reporting and internal control frameworks and requirements
  • Microsoft Excel proficient
  • Solid analytical, mathematical, and research skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with a Big 4 accounting firm
  • Experience within Capital Markets and Accounting Advisory specialty groups
