A manufacturing company in Illinois is actively seeking an organized and hardworking professional to join their staff as their new Logistics Coordinator. In this role, the Logistics Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring efficient movement of goods, optimizing transportation routes, and maintaining effective communication with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams.

Responsibilities
The Logistics Coordinator will:

• Coordinate and oversee logistics operations
• Plan and schedule shipments to meet customer demands and production requirements, while optimizing transportation costs and delivery timelines
• Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components for production
• Monitor and track inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock counts and timely replenishment
• Maintain and update transportation schedules, ensuring efficient utilization of vehicles and carriers
• Collaborate with shipping companies, freight forwarders, and customs agents to ensure smooth international shipments and compliance with customs regulations
• Manage and maintain relationships with logistics service providers, negotiating rates and contracts to ensure cost-effective and reliable services
• Prepare and analyze logistics reports, including transportation costs, delivery performance, and inventory levels
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement initiatives to enhance logistics efficiency and effectiveness
• Resolve logistics-related issues, such as delivery delays, transportation damage, and quality discrepancies, in a timely and satisfactory manner
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to logistics and supply chain management

Qualifications

• Proven work experience as a Logistics Coordinator or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of logistics and supply chain management principles, processes, and best practices
• Familiarity with manufacturing operations and materials management
• Proficient in using transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and other logistics software
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and resolve logistics challenges
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel for data analysis and reporting

• Knowledge of customs regulations and international trade
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
