Responsibilities:
The Legal Assistant will:
- Prepare, edit, and proofread a variety of documents
- Manage and assist complex document production
- Draft simple pleadings and correspondence; prepare court filings
- Prepare and finalize discovery
- Prepare shell responses to propounded discovery accurately and efficiently
- Handle outgoing and incoming mail/FedEx for assigned Attorneys
- Maintain calendars, including coordination and scheduling meetings, depositions, conference calls, etc.
- Assist with trial preparation: create trial notebooks; coordinate trial copy jobs with copy service; etc.
- Perform other duties, as needed
- 3 years of previous experience working within a Law firm
- Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree
- Knowledge of Legal terminology and principles
- Microsoft Office proficient
- Exceptional phone etiquette
- Solid problem solving and time management skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
