The Tandym Group is Hiring a Collections Specialist Near Rockford, IL

A manufacturing company in Illinois is looking to add a new Collections Specialist to join their team of professionals in the Greater Chicago area. In this role, the Collections Officer will be responsible for billing and collection emergency medical and all delinquent payments owed to the organization.
Responsibilities:
The Collections Specialist will:
  • Interact with customers to resolve outstanding issues
  • Conduct account research and analysis
  • Respond to customer inquiries; provide explanation of account activity
  • Respond to internal inquiries regarding customer accounts
  • Make daily collections calls, following the established collections matrix
  • Maintain customer account notes within TAMS and/or Collections Worksheet
  • Proactively review aging report and accounts on ‘watch list’
  • Develop and document special payment programs where appropriate
  • Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
  • 1 year of experience in Billing, Collections, and/or Office Support activities
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Knowledge of Billing and Collection principles
  • Computer savvy
  • Solid problem solving and time management skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
Desired Skills:
  • Experience in a Public Contract and/or Customer Service oriented role
