A nonprofit services organization in New York City is currently seeking a new Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) and/or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) to join their growing team in Brooklyn. In this role, the CASAC / LMSW will be responsible for providing counseling services, including identifying, screening and assessing clients to determine the need for substance use treatment. 
About the Opportunity:

• Start Date: ASAP
• Assignment Length: Contract to Hire
• Schedule: Monday to Friday
• Hours: 7am to 3pm (37.5 hour a week)
• Patient Population: Substance Abuse
• EMR: Smart Management

Responsibilities: 
The CASAC / LMSW will:

• Conduct intake interviews, biopsychosocial, and mental health screenings
• Formulate treatment plans and treatment plan reviews
• Initiate and maintain client records in accordance with policies and procedures
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry of all client information into the agency’s database; utilize electronic health record system
• Facilitate assigned treatment groups and perform drug testing, as needed
• Prepare monthly updates for court or other supervising agencies
• Participate in treatment team case reviews
• Consult with other professionals in support of client’s treatment
• Complete discharge documentation, as needed

Qualifications:

• 2 years of Clinical / Case Management experience
• Bachelor's Degree
• NYS Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) and/or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
• Solid understanding and being able to complete treatment plans and biopsychosocial.
• Computer savvy
• Solid assessment and documentation skills
• Great interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong attention to detail
• Highly organized

Desired Skills:

• Bilingual (English and Spanish)
• Relevant personal experience in terms of Recovery and/or Justice Involvement
