The Summit Center is Hiring a Behavioral Case Manager Summit Academy Enhanced Near Amherst, NY

Summit Academy Enhanced provides intense behavior services to individuals that demonstrate challenging behaviors within a school setting. The school integrates a clinical approach for the functional analysis of targeted behaviors as well as safe and effective procedures to properly evaluate treatment interventions prior to classroom implementation. Additionally, the program aims to incorporate and generalize clinical treatment gains into a classroom setting where the student can participate fully and functionally in classroom activities for the student’s overall benefit and well-being. Summit Academy Enhanced will also have the unique option of providing intense trainings for caregivers, staff, and outside providers to maintain consistency of our services across various settings and contexts.

The Behavioral Case Manager is responsible for managing the full broad range of clinical duties, as well as special assignments. General duties include (but are not limited to): conducting behavioral assessments, creating evidence-based behavior intervention plans, team consultation/collaboration, providing oversight and training on individualized behavior plans and general best-practice behavioral strategies, and providing crisis intervention and monitoring. The Behavioral Case Manager will take the lead on conducting assessment and treatment sessions for students under the guidance of the Supervising Clinician and Clinical Coordinator for Summit Academy Enhanced. The Behavioral Case Manager will take the lead role of guiding Behavioral Support Specialists within assessment and treatment sessions, and work collaboratively with the Teacher to guide the Behavior Support Specialists within the classroom setting.

· Conduct and complete functional behavioral assessments

· Formulate function-based behavior interventions

· Develop and write required reports in a timely manner

· Present reports and progress updates to the Committee on Special Education for Students as well as various committees, collaboration groups, and parent meetings as requested

· Measure progress and implementation fidelity for interim behavior protocols (IBPs), behavior management plans (BMPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs)

· Train staff in best practice methods for treatment sessions, including implementation of written protocols, data collection, and assessment procedures.

· Provide team consultation as needed

· Communicate with parents/caregivers in collaboration with the classroom Teacher

· Provide and oversee crisis intervention services for students

· Ensure that IEP mandates are fulfilled

· Maintain all records required

· Conduct all duties, responsibilities, and daily activities in accordance with current best practice and ethical guidelines

· At times, Behavioral Case Managers may need to provide direct support in various forms to classroom teams as needed throughout the day

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in special education, school psychology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. BCBA or in process. Experience in developing and implementing behavioral support plans with developmentally disabled individuals using Applied Behavior Analysis methods.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
