- Provides positive customer service to students, faculty, and staff.
- Collaborates with Deans/Departments/Chairs to advise and monitor the student population and helps to ensure students stay on track for graduation by projecting student scheduling needs in future terms.
- Assists students with university policies and procedures.
- Maintains knowledge of current academic program offerings and course requirements.
- Assists in the development and implementation of proactive, on-going retention and outreach campaigns and recovery efforts.
- Process requests in Student Information System and Learning Management System.
- Works to provide solutions for barriers to student success.
- Works collaboratively with Financial Planning and Bursar’s Offices regarding student withdrawal requests and/or financial related questions.
- Coordinates with the Re-Entry Admissions Advisors regarding student withdrawals and student reentry requests.
- Meets with students to discuss major changes; performs electronic functions to process major changes.
- Prepares unofficial transcript evaluations for review
- Maintains knowledge of acceptable transfer credit to the institution.
- Maintains accurate filing systems (paper, e-file, Student Information System) of active and inactive student records.
- Assesses academic difficulties, develops appropriate remedies, and evaluates effectiveness of student welfare and retention concerns.
- Performs phone, text, and e-mail related campaigns throughout the term
- Conducts strategic interventions for students identified as not meeting milestones (at-risk). Interventions include emails, phone calls, and other technological means to contact students. Contact will be action-focused on resource referral and plan-building to improve success.
- Develops and maintains close working relationships with faculty and other administrators for the purpose of collaborative efforts for student success.
- Connects students with on-campus student services, tutoring programs, mentors, and other programs designed to help them reach graduation.
- Identifies external resources to which students can be referred to assist with overcoming obstacles to continuing their education.
- Assists with course work questions, where possible, including assistance with the Learning Management System.
- Attends Commencement Ceremonies.
- Participates in registration and orientation activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
- An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Familiarity with transcript evaluation.
- Ability to coordinate multiple deadlines simultaneously and efficiently while meeting required deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Must possess excellent customer service, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to function efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
- Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
