We are currently looking for a full-time Director of the Quality Enhancement Plan. The Director provides leadership to support faculty and staff in the development and implementation of the Sullivan University Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). The position manages the establishment of the framework, creates the implementation strategy, and supervises the progress of the QEP to improve student learning and support based on the articulated goals of the QEP. Additionally, the position ensures the QEP remains in alignment and compliance with the requirements of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), the Sullivan University mission and vision, and the Sullivan University System (SUS) Strategic Plan. This position is also faculty.

Responsibilities of the position include:

  • Manages the establishment of the framework, implements activities, and supervises the QEP Committee and its subcommittees, as well as all day-to-day operations of the QEP.
  • Ensures that faculty, directors/chairs, deans, Associate Provost for Strategic Academic Initiatives, Vice President/Provost, and campus leadership, as well as Academic Services, Admissions, Career Services, Financial Planning, Library, Office of the Registrar, and Student Services, provide the feedback necessary to develop the framework for the implementation strategy.
  • Collaborates with the Associate Provost for Strategic Academic Initiatives, VP/Provost, and the Executive Director of Academic Operations & Institutional Effectiveness (EDAOIE) to ensure alignment of QEP goals with other on-going initiatives and the SUS Strategic Plan.
  • In conjunction with faculty, directors/chairs and deans, initiates curriculum development strategies and sourcing of such curriculum development for the affected courses to accommodate new content.
  • Establishes the data-driven basis for all QEP activities, assessments, and outcomes.
  • Provides leadership in the design and implementation of new policies, procedures, pedagogies, curricula, facilities, job descriptions, and professional development necessary to achieve the QEP goals.
  • Reviews and monitors SACSCOC QEP requirements to ensure Sullivan University compliance.
  • Acts as a liaison and coordinator with external stakeholders to obtain input into the QEP development and implementation (on-going).
  • Manages the QEP master training schedule and collaborates with the VP/Provost to source and deliver professional development opportunities for faculty and staff relevant to the QEP initiatives.
  • Supervises the successful implementation of the QEP by collaborating with faculty, administration, and staff.
  • Creates and manages the QEP master communication strategy to include the appropriate SU personnel to develop an awareness plan that informs the University community of the purpose and value of the QEP across all SU locations.
  • Prepares a detailed analysis of the QEP implementation, status and performance through a set of benchmarks to measure the progress toward achieving QEP goals.
  • Leads the QEP Assessment Plan, which provides for an annual formative assessment of student learning outcomes, maintains all records and data on the QEP, and produces the summative assessment for the five-year interim report.
  • Manages the QEP budget.
  • In addition to management/administrative duties, teaches course load as assigned by the VP/Provost (or designee) and performs functions of a faculty member as indicated on the faculty job description.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements of the position include:

  • A master’s degree in related field.
  • Three years of higher education teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
  • An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
  • Possess general understanding of SACSCOC requirements.
  • Possess proven expertise in planning and executing operational plans, managing projects, programs, budgeting, and cost control (PMP preferred).
  • Ability to diagnose, plan and manage resource requirements, including staffing, budgets and equipment.
  • Knowledge of education research methods, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and action research practices.
  • Capable of developing and/or utilizing statistical models to assess student learning outcomes related to the QEP and database management.
  • Possess strong managerial and team building skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to develop cooperative relationships among faculty, administration, staff, and executive leadership.
  • Web authoring, updating, management (SharePoint preferred); to include social media.
  • Excellent organizational (with attention to detail), interpersonal, communication (written and oral), problem solving and customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain concentration and attention to detail when working for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with faculty, staff, and students.
