The State of New Hampshire, Insurance Department has a full-time vacancy for Life and Health Workflow Coordinator.

SUMMARY:

Coordinates with director and professional staff in the Division of Life and Health (LAH) units (Forms Examination, Rates, Healthcare Analytics and Market Regulation) to support programs and projects. Develop, analyze and maintain procedures pertaining to reporting, tracking and distribution systems for the division. Participate in assigned analysis projects, data collection, management activities, and administration of special projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

Experience: Three years’ professional or paraprofessional experience in administrative or data gathering and analysis activities in government, industry or a research agency, with responsibility for program implementation, direct service delivery, planning or program evaluation. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

PREFERRED WORK TRAITS:

Knowledge of modern principles and practices of public or business administration. Knowledge of modern office methods and procedures. Working knowledge in the retrieving, compiling and reporting data according to established procedures with proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Skill in editing techniques, data analysis and graphic presentation. Skill in recommending and implementing operating procedures. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, company representatives, federal, state and local authorities and the public. Ability to understand and carry out complex written or oral instructions. Position requires an individual to be self-motivated, work independently and have the ability to maintain confidentiality as required. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the agency appointing authority.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for assessing and assigning LAH filings submitted through the System for Electronic Rate and Form Filing (SERFF) to form examiners. Self-assign basic filing reviews and disposition accordingly. Maintain monthly assignment calendar and reassign filings as needed to maintain acceptable workflow for examiner productivity and to achieve unit performance measurements.
  • Review SERFF advertising filings submitted for information and forward all others to assigned examiners.
  • Create, implement and manage report tracking systems that include processes and procedures for ensuring requisite reports have been received, logged, filed, or transmitted to appropriate persons.
  • Extract data and create reports on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis from a variety of sources and databases, including proprietary databases such as NAIC I-Site, State Based Systems, and System for Electronic Rate and Form Filing (SERFF). Distribute and disseminate such reports applicable to persons within the Department.
  • Create weekly, monthly and fiscal year production reports and maintain monthly Marketplace enrollments membership spreadsheets. Extract and design meaningful production and ad-hoc reports from multiple databases as assigned by the director.
  • Maintain on an annual basis all tools used to perform SERFF intake functions such as retaliatory filing fee schedule, type of insurance, actuary certificates, reports and program assistant manuals.
  • Maintain and correspond as needed to division inquiries and email requests.
  • Schedule and prepare meetings with insurance carrier representatives.
