HUMAN RESOURCES TECHNICIAN

The pay range for this position is $19.57 - $25.89 per hour

The State of New Hampshire, Department of Safety, Division of Administration has a part-time vacancy for Human Resources Technician, SOC Title 13-1070 HUMAN RES WKRS-2. This is a part time position and cannot exceed 29.5 hours per week.

SUMMARY: Provides technical assistance in processing human resources information relating to recruitment, performance, operations and benefits by performing duties such as tracking, correspondence, transactions and other related tasks to support the implementation of personnel functions.

18 Months of additional relevant experience = Associate's degree

36 Months of additional relevant experience = Bachelor's degree

54 Months of additional relevant experience = Master's degree

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with major study preferably in personnel management, business administration, education, or one of the social sciences. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

Experience: One year of experience in a personnel office performing personnel work preferably at a supervisory level. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

License/Certification: Must possess a valid driver’s license or have access to statewide travel.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidate will undergo a fingerprint-based criminal background check and motor vehicle record check in order to ensure suitability for exposure to confidential information.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Implements tracking methods to ensure complete and timely processing of administrative tasks involving personnel transactions for the Department. Makes recommendations on improving procedures and methods.

Gathers, organizes, researches and reviews personnel information to prepare reports, documents and correspondence necessary for leadership to use in administrative decision-making.

Answers inquiries from employees, supervisors and leadership to clarify policies, procedures and requirements according to Personnel Rules and Collective Bargaining Agreements.

Develops and maintains technical assistance manuals and training documents relating personnel transaction processes, procedures and culture of the Department. Provides technical assistance to supervisors when necessary.

Maintains complete and accurate personnel records to document communications, transactions, status changes, personal data updates and other related personnel matters.

Processes transactions in NH FIRST to implement employee and position status changes as required and ensure accurate and timely entry onto appropriate trackers.

Assists with other human resources activities and transactions as needed to ensure continuity of operations including, but not limited to, processing work units, filing, assisting with special projects, auditing NH FIRST information, and compiling reports.
