Compensation:
$41,870.40 to $47,257.60/Annual ($20.13 to $22.72/Hr.)*

  • Salary can vary depending upon education, experience, or qualifications. Though this position is unclassified, pay is equivalent to classified Pay Grade 24, Steps 10-15.

Position Summary & Responsibilities

Position Summary:

This position provides programming and related risk reduction interventions for adult residents at El Dorado Correctional Facility.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

This position schedules, monitors and is responsible for administrative aspects of risk reduction classes held at EDCF. Establish a method for reviewing population in the facility to identify those who qualify for the appropriate classes which are being facilitated. Must ensure case managers and any stakeholders have knowledge about class progress as appropriate, including any necessary Athena entries and any other aspect of the administration of the classes. Must prepare discharge summaries upon completion of such classes. Collect whatever data is requested by the statewide team as needed to assess the effectiveness of the services provided through this position. Through this screening process ensure that FPER codes are accurate and entered in a timely manner

This position will take the lead in and delivering of classes to the residents while they are at EDCF. Develop and establish a specific strategy related to responsibility, level of motivation and readiness of offenders to participate in cognitive and job preparedness classes and case planning; work with case managers and staff to implement this strategy, including use of an assessment process and strategies to engage residents meaningfully in the process, and sustain that engagement. Working with the residents one-on-one and/or having meetings with their case managers.

This position will be prepared to assist with and ensure security issues are addressed, seeking assistance from shift supervisors and security staff. This to include proper dress and behavior of residents. Become trained and certified in the cognitive, family relations and job readiness curricula and all other trainings developed and certified to use by KDOC for this specialized population.

This position will perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Six months of experience in planning, implementing and monitoring activities relevant to the agency's programs.

Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.

Preferred Qualifications:

Independent work experience in human services assistance.

A bachelor’s degree in corrections/criminal justice or social services field, or equivalent experience.

Two (2) years experience working with adult felons.

Two (2) years experience delivering CBT programming to adult felons, including some work with a restrictive housing or high risk pouplation.

One (1) year experience assisting in the administrative aspects of programming, including screening referrals, building groups, monitoring groups, and some exposure to fidelity work.

Demonstrated knowledge of principles of evidence based programming and core correctional practices, and practical experience implementing.

Demonstrated facilitation skills.

Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements: Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Must pass a criminal history records check.
